In a recent paper [1], the reduction of mechanical presymplectic structures and its application to time-dependent Hamiltonian systems was introduced, addressing some of the limitations of the classical Albert reduction. In this talk, we will present this extended framework for reducing time-dependent Hamiltonian systems. The method combines cotangent bundle reduction with the reduction of presymplectic structures of corank 1 and 2. These results extend earlier work in the area [2]. Several examples will be discussed to illustrate the theory from this updated standpoint.
